The Hardest Thing About Swimming 10 Miles

When I registered for Swim the Suck, they wanted to know my favorite band.  Yikes!  Just between me and the Internet:  I am not cool enough to have a favorite band.  I have eclectic/bizarre taste in music.  Classic Rock (a little before my time), Latin pop (not Reggaeton), Indie Rock, the most annoying (to other people) One-Hit Wonders of the 80s, anything with a Celtic influence...You get the picture.

I left it blank.  But they came after me.  Last night, I got an e-mail from the great Karah Nazor Friberg insisting that I pick a band.  This was my response:

Whatever my Pandora station picks for me? The Onion did a spoof on this being the most stressful question a person can face. It is for me!

 

What can I pick that's generationally appropriate and not embarrassing? Nothing! Everything is either before my time or I'm not sure who they are because I only know them from Pandora. Or I only like a few songs. 

 

Warren Zevon, Abba, Bishop Allen, Flogging Molly, Bruce Springsteen,The Cars, Shakira, Juanes, Rolling Stones....

 

I'm hopeless! Swimming 10 miles is easier (I hope).

I guess leave blank, or try to pick something for me that doesn't sound too embarrassing.
